Big Boy Bed

It’s official… he’s a big boy.  Next he will be out of diapers and then I really won’t have a baby anymore- not sure how I feel about that, but that’s a whole other issue!

Weston was always the better sleeper of our two… he’d go to bed early, easy and sleep through the night.  But recently he was crying as we laid him down, crying in the middle of night, and then it happened… he climbed out of his crib and came downstairs to our bed.  Now although he was a good sleeper, he’s not a good sleep companion- he kicks, hits, squirms, and steamrolls.  So we decided that with these sleep habits he must feel very cramped in his crib and so it was time… time for a big boy bed.

We opted for the mattress on the floor as we had done with his sister.  This was his first reaction… think he was ready? ;)

Then he did this… check out that air!!!

Then he snuggled into his pillows…

He’s very proud of his big boy bed and does really well!  But it does make his mommy sad to not have a crib baby anymore- and he’s not even two!  Why do they grow up so fast?!?

Family Fun

I just had to share some of these photos from a family session I did in August.  They were so much fun- from mini-golf cart rides, playtime in the park and bubbles… I was ready for a nap after it all, so hopefully the little ones were too!!  So we started out with a few more traditional family portraits and then moved on to the more candid, fun stuff…

these are the three portraits that grandma chose to enlarge for wall display… such cute boys!!

and how much fun is this little cart the grandparents have for their grand-boys!

these two just cracked me up… can you tell they are brothers?

this one was my favorite of the day…I really liked this sweet mommy & son moment… Mandy is such a sweet, calm and patient mom and I thought you could totally see it in this picture :)
and finally time for BUBBLES!!! loved the popping action in the middle one!

I know this is late getting up but I had so much fun and thanks again :)

Cameron and Lucas

So if you’ve followed my old blog and photos you will definitely recognize this family :) Cameron is now 6 months old and his big brother Lucas is now 3!!  Man time flies!!  Both boys were awesome… so photogenic and just genuinely happy and full of smiles.

WARNING-If you are like me and your babies have officially lost all their baby rolls and you greatly miss the days when your baby’s wrists, ankles and knees were hidden by that soft newborn padding- this little guy will make you go into serious withdraws, decide to procreate again, ultimately resulting in overpopulation… this kind of snuggly cuteness is dangerous!!

Now this little man is gonna break some serious hearts… and I am now ordering his mommy to go to Gap and enter his picture in to the Gap modeling contest- if he doesn’t win or at least place the judges are seriously on crack.

I just loved these mommy and me shots… and there are those yummy rolls again!!!

and last but not least, I couldn’t leave out Dad getting in on the snuggles too…

Thanks again for sharing this time with me… your boys are so precious!

Why quiet scares me…

So as a mom of two toddlers you’d think that if it is quiet around this house I’d enjoy it, that I’d think that my kids are playing happily with each other, reading books or participating in some sort of other quiet activity…nope.  When my kids are awake… if my husband and I get to have an uninterrupted conversation, or I get to have an uninterrupted phone call or bathroom break- I should be afraid… very afraid.  Now if I hear laughing, talking, toys tinkering, even crying- that’s a good thing.  Quiet = Trouble.

It’s on these quiet occasions that I have found whole rolls of toilet paper in in the toliet, scribble murals on our walls, etc.  So here is what they decided to do on their latest quiet escapade…

yes- this is waterproof mascara, and his sister managed to get some on his actual lashes.  Do you know how hard it is to try to remove mascara from a wild 23 month old little boy’s lashes?  He ended up going to church with lovely lashes…

No children were harmed in the making of this blog entry…
