oh my poor neglected blog… for my first post in months I thought I’d try to express what my mind has been occupied with these past couple months. kindergarten. my baby girl is now a kindergartener. five days a week for the majority of her day her life is influenced by others besides myself. have I done my job as a mother to prepare her for this step? did i take my time with her at home forgranted? we have all adjusted… her better than I. she has amazed me with how well she has adjusted to the too early mornings and unfamiliar environment. she loves it… and as she tells me- now I have to make sure and play with “brother”… which apparently has been her job until now she is thinking of his happiness in her new situation. she makes me proud beyond words, she is kind, compassionate and sensitive but also adventurous and brave. I love you Avery Reese Parker, I know God has amazing plans for you and this is just the beginning.

I did a “kindergarten session” with Avery in hopes that it would deter me from going too kindergarten paparazzi on her first day… but it didn’t really.

Baby Colton

Earlier this year I was privileged to take photos of this handsome baby boy and his gorgeous mama. Colton has the most amazing blue eyes and the best smile! Even when he was ready for me to leave and have his mama to himself we got some sweet moments with his pacifier and snuggle-time with his mama… thanks Jamie for spending this time with me.

This was a session from several months ago that I just couldn’t not blog! I loved the family interaction and how we plopped the kiddos in their playroom and besides a few prompts here and there we just watched them be themselves… they were so much fun to hang out with! Growing up…

I obviously love photos… then why do I have such a hard time taking them of my own children?!? And why is it that the ones I do take end up being trapped for eternity on my hard drive ?!? I have actually purchased some awesome frames just to have them sit with the strangers photos in them for months and months… If someone were to walk in to my house, you could never guess that I was a photographer by looking at my walls. Oh the shame! Well, now that I’ve confessed… here are some family images that have been hiding out on my hard drive.

It is so overwhelming to me look at how time flies… these were Weston’s three year old photos that I took of him on our trip to Colorado in November. My baby boy isn’t a baby anymore, he wants my help so little these days… not even to get dressed and put on his shoes. tear. I try to look on the bright side of this new independence and embrace his growing sense of humor, how he is eager to make me laugh and show off his developing sport skills… but it is hard to let go of that baby! So I’ll admit that my heart feels happy on the rare occasion that he asks me to carry him, or when he comes to ask me for help… I know I have to let go of him someday so that he can be a strong independent man- thankfully just not yet…

I can’t tell you how many photos I got of this face…And speaking of growing up… this is my niece Allyson, turning 15 this year!! Wow, to think I first met her when she was 4- my own daughter’s age. In a few more years she’ll be off to college somewhere… can I go cry now? maybe I’m just all emotional since I turn thirty this month… and feeling very grown up myself ;)

It has been such an honor to see this little girl grow! This was her one year session and I just finished designing an album for her first year of sessions… I can’t wait to show you the finished product! Emma is such a genuinely happy baby girl, her smile can just light your day. She is just a dream to be around and of course I love that she is ham for the camera! Oh and her parents are awesome too…

Thanks so much to this family for spending time with me this fall… shortly after these photos mom and dad welcomed a third son into their family! Andrea- it was awesome to get to know you and your boys a little more- and you know I can’t wait to get my hands on your newest addition!

The littlest Lamb… part IV

Man this little guy is growing up way too fast… he turns two next month!!! I love this stage of toddling and exploring, Nate has such a sweet little personality and kept us laughing as we chased him around…

This was his newest trick… the over the shoulder pose. Love that he did this since I spent a lot of time trying to catch up with him!

I loved the light and fall leaves in this one…

This one just makes me laugh… that little face as his mommy tells him to “shhh”- priceless

I finally feel back to normal after the fall madness! Hope you are having an amazing New Year… now I get to catch up on some of the awesome sessions I have done in the past couple months. Starting out with the Luzinski family’s handsome boys… loved their coordinating sweaters!!

I love hanging out with this family… Mandy and Rich keep their calm sense of humor despite the chaos of attempting to keep two energetic boys near the camera

What November?

Did November just happen? Seriously? As I realized it will December tomorrow I also realized I haven’t posted an entry at all this month… I have a ton of pictures I want to share and even more to edit these next couple weeks. I’ll admit that fall simply kicks my butt- so many sessions so close together and trying to do my stay at home mom duties AND the holidays and travel… I find myself overwhelmed and needing to hone my time management skills. BUT as soon as I feel set into a groove- the season is over… that’s life right I do enjoy spending all this time with my amazing clients… getting to spend a couple hours together on a beautiful fall day, seeing how much their babies have grown in just the few months since I’ve seen them or meeting new families and making new friends.

So enough of my rambling… here are some pics! Aren’t they handsome!

These have to be some of my most favorite candid shots ever! Don’t you wonder what was so funny?

And lastly I thought I’d share the universal sign that means “I’m done!!!”

I had so much fun hanging out with this family! Jack has gotten so big since the last time I got to see him and Madeleine has grown from a sweet camera shy toddler to a lovely little model. I feel so honored to be chosen to capture these stages of childhood… such a blessing!

loved these sweet moments with dad….and this impromptu hug with mom just melted my heart!
